Malkin: Faster Than Feared
Malkin comments on McCain’s glowing endorsement of Hillary’s “character, honesty and integrity.” See our initial observations Sunday night on the McCain’s endorsement of Hillary.
Malkin writes that:
If his explanation of the remarks to George Stephanopoulous is supposed to “calm down” conservatives, the McCain camp is 1) more out of touch with reality than I imagined, and 2) hurtling towards a repeat of the 1996 Dole/Kemp disaster faster than I imagined.
Indeed, it seems genetic for McCain. He is so able to furiously attack conservatives and conservative causes - and yet when he has a chance to point out the myriad of flaw’s in Hillary’s character, honesty and integrity he not only takes a pass, but decides to lavish on the praise. Don’t be fooled by his, “I’m a true conservative” baloney.
His anemic little comment that she/they wouldn’t be good from a governing point of view doesn’t cut it.
Message to conservatives: Don’t bother with the mental gymnanistics required to find a way to support McCain this year. You’ll just be selling your convictions and you’ll regret it in the morning.
Hey, maybe McCain will pick Hillary as a running mate?
