VP Choice: Romney?

Over at Hot Air, they report on Coulter suggesting she’ll vote for McCain if he puts Romney on the ticket.
Most folks are missing the obvious choice. Its Fred Thompson. Conservative. Southern. Nationally known. A Hollywood guy. Cordial Senate colleague.
Perfect fit.
Won’t change the fact that conservatives won’t turn out for McCain - but it will represent a nice try on McCain’s part.

Fred Thompson is a fine gentleman. He’s just not a good campaigner. We need someone that is willing to work more than 3 horus a day.
As for Romney, he’s a good man, but with with a checkered past.
What truly amazes me is how fellow Republicans are so blindly willing to drink Romney’s kool-aid, and forget how politically opportuisitic he is by changing his positions on key issues to run for president, while gleefully pointing out every single mistake McCain might have made.
To me, it’s willful ignorance at best. Romney will not be on the ticket. He went
McCain is the best choice to lead the GOP.
As for Ann Coulter, I would like it if she leaves the GOP. We don’t need republicans like her. She gives us all a bad name.
