Bush’s CPAC Remarks via Malkin
Michelle Malkin has posted an early copy of President Bush’s CPAC remarks.
Predictably, Bush includes a soft-ball, positive-spin, up-beat forecast that he applies to mad-man McCain:
“I look forward to working with you this year. My energy is up, my spirit is high, and I intend to finish strong. In the meantime, we will elect a new President. We have had good debates and soon we will have a nominee who will carry the conservative banner into this election and beyond. The stakes in November are high. Prosperity and peace are in the balance. So with confidence in our vision and faith in our values, let us go forward … fight for victory … and keep the White House in 2008.”
We wonder why so many citizens are so turned off by politics. Simple answer really: they see right through the transparent propaganda.
Bush is a good guy, but its going to be painful to watch him grant his blessings to McCain.
Bush says, “…soon we will have a nominee who will carry the conservative banner into this election and beyond.”
And that would be…. McCain?
I didn’t realize free speech infringment was part of the conservative banner.
I didn’t realize teaming up with Ted Kennedy was part of the conservative banner.
I didn’t know that voting against Bush’s tax cuts was part of the conservative banner.
I didn’t know swallowing the global-warming baloney hook, line and sinker was part of the conservative banner.
Truth is, of course - none of these are conservative - this is what we can expect from John McCain. The best we’ll ever get from him is what we got from him at CPAC. Did he apologize for infringing on free speech? Did he apologize for proposing amnesty for illegal aliens? Did he apologize for trying to block Bush’s tax cuts? No, I didn’t think so. Yet many conservatives seem ready to give him a pass.
From here on out folks McCain only get more liberal. He’s made his penance… nothing else for him to do except to make his hard left.
Let’s do what Bush suggested, but do it for the conservative values this nation was built on and that are vital to keeping her strong and free.

How come nobody is mentioning the lousy treatment that Senator McCain gave to
the families of POW’s were given when they appeared before a committee he chaired
in the Senate on Vietnam POW’s.
