McCain’s Plea
Posted on February 7th, 2008 by davidwattsjr
In his prepared remarks to CPAC, as he attempts to appeal to conservative voters - McCain says:
“It is my sincere hope that, even if you believe I have occasionally erred in my reasoning as a fellow conservative, you will still allow that I have, in many ways important to all of us, maintained the record of a conservative,” McCain said in his prepared remarks.
“Occasionally erred in my reasoning as a fellow conservative?”
- McCain is not a fellow conservative.
- McCain agrees with Ted Kennedy more than he agrees with a real conservative: John Cornyn
- And what is this “occasionally erred” business? Occasional? That sort of like saying we occasionally bombed Japan with nuclear weapons. How many times does it take? Once is too much.
- Occasional must mean: McCain-Feingold free speech infringment, McCain-Kennedy amnesty for illegal aliens, McCain-Lieberman global-warming-hoax tax increases, and the McCain “Gang of 14″ that denied President Bush his constitutional rights to appoint Federal judges and to have them voted on by the Senate in an up or down vote.
John McCain, you’ve not erred occasionally. You’ve erred consistently. You’ve swerved to the left and stuck your thumb in the eye of your conservative peers more often than not.
We’ll not forget.
